Welcome to HEAL AS JESUS HEALED 101

I am looking forward to going on this journey with you to discover a deeper understanding of God's heart regarding healing.

Healing has been a significant part of my life journey - I pray that this course will be a useful tool to let healing become a normal part of your life journey.

INTRODUCTION: GOD'S WILL FOR HEALING

SCRIPTURE

John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”

TEACHING POINTS

Ethic of performance: DO - HAVE - BE

> If you do the right things, you will have the right things and somehow find happiness. 

> Who we are is rooted in what we have done. 

> Religious rituals easily succumb to this thinking. 

Ethic of Christ-Centeredness: BE - DO - HAVE

> What we are and who we are overflows from what we believe and with whom we have connected. 

Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. 

What we do and who we are is grounded in the person of Jesus.

APPLICATION

1) Take some time in prayer and speak to the Holy Spirit if there are still areas in your life that operate out of DO-HAVE-BE. Ask Him to reveal Himself more to you in that area so it can turn to BE-DO-HAVE.

2) Meditate (take time and intentionally think about) on Proverbs 23:7. Take your journal and write down things you believe about yourself - positive and negative. Start replacing the negative ones with the truth of scripture.

E.g. "I'm an angry person and my temper flares up a lot." This might be a 'true' statement but it's not a 'truth' statement. You are a new creation, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you, so you can ask Him to start manifesting peace and patience in your life.
